I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Trombone! Stay tuned for concert info; looks like we’ve got a fun season planned!
Starting this Sunday (5/26) I will be performing with a newly-formed jazz group called Sidecar Swing! We’ll be focusing mainly on swing and traditional jazz tunes from the 20’s through the 40’s. Catch us on the 4th Sunday of every month 2pm-5pm at Winston’s Pub & Grill - Belmar!
Colorado Brass will be performing at the Rocky Mountain Brass Band Festival, which will be held at the Parker Arts, Culture & Events Center on Saturday May 18th at 6pm. We had a great first trip to the annual North American Brass Band Association competition in April, and we’re looking forward to performing for our home audience again! Come hear us play a variety of music, from marches to contest pieces to Holst and all the way to a Beatles medley arranged by yours truly!
I am excited to be performing Bert Appermont’s “Colors” for Trombone, as a guest soloist with the Rocky Mountain Brassworks, for their Valentine’s Day concert on Sunday February 17th at 2pm in the Broomfield Auditorium. The piece has four movements that each represent characteristics commonly associated with a color: Yellow represents inspiration and wisdom, Red represents passion and courage, Blue represents dreams and peace, and Green represents hope and harmony. Tickets are available on Rocky Mountain Brassworks’ website - don’t miss my second-ever performance as a featured soloist with a brass band!
I will be performing Arthur Pryor’s Fantastic Polka, which I have arranged for brass band, with the Colorado Brass on our first concert of the season! The concert is Monday October 8th at 7:30pm at the King Center on the Auraria Campus in Denver. The concert will also feature our principal solo cornet, Dr. Michael Hengst, and a great (and challenging!) piece of music by Thomas Doss called REM-Scapes, along with some other fun selections from the brass band repertoire!
I will be performing the Bozza Ballade for Trombone in the Rocky Mountain Brass Band Festival Solo Contest on Friday May 25th. The contest will be held at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Aurora (18901 E. Hampden Ave) starting at 7pm. Admission is free, and the winner will be announced the following day (Saturday May 26th) at the Rocky Mountain Brass Band Festival (also free admission) which begins at 5:30pm at the PACE center in Parker!
The Colorado Brass will be having our second concert on May 12th at 7:30pm at Vista Peak Preparatory High School in Aurora! The concert will feature Dr. Lee Harrelson on euphonium. For more information, visit Colorado Brass's new website! http://www.coloradobrass.org/
